Queen C and Her King, Spencer!

I've known Carlenya for at least 10 years. She is one of my MOST loyal clients and most of all, friends. Her, "Yo Quiero Taco Bell" dog's name is Spencer. He and I have a love-hate relationship. She will laugh, but this is true. Spencer has shown me his sensitive side ONCE in his life. Every other moment involves teeth and gums, mixed in with some growling. This only happens when I come into the room. Guess what?!? On this most recent, cold, winter day, he complied. He shivered, but complied. Take a look at a few photos from their regal themed shoot and read up on how Carlenya met her sidekick. "Spencer came into my life when I guess I needed him the most. I wasn't looking for a dog, but a co-worker posted an ad of a dog that daughter was selling. I thought he was so cute. I was interested & would often ask if she found him a home. The day came when she said no and they were going to take him to the pound. My heart began to hurt & spontaneously I said, I want him! He was way too cute to go the pound. And from that day, Spencer has been my sidekick. I remember the day she placed him in my arms. Oh, and we had to change his awful name from Quarter Pounder (QP) to something that better suited him." - Carlenya

Higher Education

So, how often do you get frustrated with teaching your children?!? Waiting.... Ok!! I do too! I'm trying to get him prepared for school. It's all good in the hood until I ask him to sound out words. We've been working on sight words. I push him, I know I do. I just want him to excel. I give up every 4 minutes. The last attempt, a lightbulb went off in my head. I don't know why I didn't think of this to begin with. My son's room is plastered with sticky cards. Soon, I'm going to tag everything in the kitchen and living room. We're going to cross our fingers for effectiveness. I make my son write everyday. I'm trying to teach him how to press down on the pencil. Stay in the lines.

Hold it differently. Not to write so big. Legible penmanship. He prefers his dad's style of teaching. LOL I don't blame him. We're going to test out this new wave. If this doesn't work, I'll be on Pinterest. Hurry August, please...
